My client is a well-established Event and Production Agency whom combines creative thinking with expert production to deliver exceptional events and unforgettable experiences. The focus is on helping clients create memorable moments that resonate with the people who matter most to them.

 

The Role:

 


The Project Director will lead the execution of major projects, with an emphasis on creative conferencing and B2B experiences. Reporting to the Group Project Director, this role involves close collaboration with Client Directors and Account Directors to support pitches and proposals, as well as ensure smooth project progression. The Project Director will also manage the daily operations of the Projects team, offering guidance through both pre-production and event delivery.

 

 

Key Qualifications

 

 

  • Proven experience as a Project Director or Executive Producer in an agency or freelance capacity, with a focus on live events and end-to-end B2B experiences.

 

  • Ability to lead and mentor teams, manage resources, and oversee schedules efficiently.

 

  • Skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously and spotting potential challenges before they escalate.

 

  • Comfortable providing guidance to Producers and taking on hands-on tasks when required.

 

  • Experienced in serving as the primary client contact and managing large-scale projects with budgets ranging from £1m to £5m.

 

  • A natural collaborator who works seamlessly with specialists across different disciplines to deliver successful events.

 

 

  • Extensive knowledge of creative production, live event management, and B2B and experiential events.

 

  • Strong client-first approach with an understanding of how to meet and exceed expectations by focusing on key performance indicators (KPIs).

 

 

  • Ability to work internationally while maintaining a high level of organization both in the office and on the road.

 

  • Strong communicator with an eye for detail, capable of writing and speaking effectively.

 

  • Open to new ideas and innovation, while also fostering collaboration and feedback within the team.

 

  • Commercially aware, able to balance budgets and deliver impactful solutions for clients.

 

  • Strong network of suppliers and freelancers, confident in managing those relationships and ensuring project timelines are met.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

 

Project Delivery

 

 

  • Interpret and understand client briefs, working with Client Directors, Account Directors, and Strategists on proposals and RFQs from the pitch stage to final scope.

 

  • Actively participate in live pitches, contributing to strategies, team structures, budgets, and timelines.

 

 

  • Lead projects from concept through to final reconciliation, ensuring KPIs are met and deliverables align with the overall strategy.

 

  • Assemble and lead project teams, including Producers, Production Managers, Creatives, Technical Directors, and Project Coordinators, based on project requirements.

 

 

  • Provide clients with innovative, cutting-edge solutions for live, digital, and hybrid projects.

 

  • Manage major projects with budgets ranging from £1m to £5m, overseeing programming, guest experience, space design, logistics, and creative concepts.

 

 

  • Oversee all aspects of the project, including production, creative/experiential elements, live show execution, and event management.

 

  • Manage project budgets, ensuring client satisfaction while maintaining profitability.

 

 

  • Track project schedules and progress, and complete post-event reporting.

 

 

Team Leadership and Process Management

 

 

  • Oversee daily operations of the Projects team, including resource management and freelance staff.

 

  • Work alongside the Group Project Director to ensure efficient project delivery.

 

 

  • Mentor senior and mid-level team members, offering support and training to help them grow in their roles.

 

  • Review team outputs, including plans, proposals, and decks, ensuring accuracy and value are added.

 

  • Ensure internal processes like time-sheets and expenses are completed promptly.

 

 

  • Serve as an escalation point for project-related issues when necessary.

 

 

Line Management Responsibilities

 

 

 

  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports, offering clear direction,

 

  • Monitor team wellbeing, manage workloads, and reach out for support as needed.
