Job Description

An established West London based Scenic design and build company is looking for an experienced workshop manager to join the team. You'll be supervising craftspeople as they produce scenic elements for Live Event, Theatre and TV projects. Experience working in a workshop based management / leadership role is crucial to keep the workshop running like a well oiled machine. 

Must have

• Ample experience in the Events / Scenic construction industry
• 5 Years experience in a workshop / production environment
• Leadership qualities and interpersonal skills
• Working knowledge of H&S / COSHH / Sustainability in a workshop environment
• Hands on experience with various manufacturing machinery and equipment

Responsibilities

• Ensure H&S is a paramount consideration at all times
• Complete regular risk assessments
• Ensure workshop projects are delivered on time, and to the highest quality
• Report timeframes, materials and labour requirements to Project Managers
• Manage and reduce waste output
• Workshop HR responsibilities 
• Improve on existing systems and protocol to boost productivity and output
• Develop new methods of working as required
• Train and supervise staff
• Log all consumables & maintain tool inventory
• General workshop admin via Microsoft Office & Outlook
