Senior Architect or Technologist in Cambridge?
I am working with an AJ100 firm in the Cambridge area who are looking for an experienced Senior Project Architect or Technologist to provide technical design leadership within our project teams and across our studio. This role will involve working on a diverse range of projects, managing teams, and ensuring successful design outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the programming and planning of technical design packages, defining outputs and deliverables.
- Manage and oversee projects (or specific packages within larger projects), ensuring positive design, client satisfaction, and financial success.
- Act as a key point of contact, reporting to team leaders and studio leadership.
- Coordinate design professionals within multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Maintain regular communication with clients and stakeholders.
- Conduct technical design reviews/audits, sharing feedback and best practices.
- Line manage up to three team members, supporting their professional growth.
- Contribute to the practice-wide Technical Leadership Group.
- Be part of a diverse, inclusive, and creative team of architectural professionals.
Skills & Experience Required:
- 15+ years of post-qualification experience in a UK-based practice as a Project Architect or Technologist.
- Professional qualification: RIBA/ARB registration or equivalent (e.g., CIAT).
- Strong technical and detailing skills, with a deep understanding of UK Building & Planning regulations.
- Proven experience across all RIBA stages, particularly Stages 3-7.
- Expertise in AutoCAD, Revit, and NBS software (essential).
- Conservation experience is desirable.
- Project management and contract administration skills.
- Leadership experience in managing small to medium-sized teams.
- Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented approach.
- Excellent verbal, written, and client-facing communication skills.
- A track record of financial responsibility for project success.
- Passion for mentoring, knowledge-sharing, and team development.
Salary will be based on experience and ability but is expected to be between, £45,000 - £55,000.
