ARE YOU A SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER LOOKING FOR A NEW ROLE AND OPEN TO MATERNITY COVER?

 

Our client are actively and urgently looking for a Senior Interior Designer on a 12-month maternity cover contract. As a Senior Interior Designer, you will be reporting to the Head of Design to deliver a variety of single discipline interior design projects and interior design contributions to large multi-disciplinary projects worldwide. The interiors team is currently a team of 5, working alongside other Designers, Architects, Technicians, and Apprentices.

The projects you would be involved in include high-profile residences, offices, and amenity spaces.

This role will be based predominantly from the office in London, but there are also studios in Milton Keynes and worldwide. The client offers hybrid working where business needs and roles allow. Working hours can be split between workplace and home (with 60% of contracted hours in the workplace, for example, 3 days for full-time staff working a 5-day week). Hours are between 8 am and 5 pm.

 

REQUIREMENTS for the role:

  • Candidates can only apply if they are a British citizen, or hold dual nationality, and have been a resident in the UK for at least 2 of the last 5 years.
  • Degree or equivalent in Interior Design, or related design discipline.
  • Experience at all RIBA stages.
  • Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation.
  • Proficiency and experience with AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency and experience with SketchUp.
  • Proficiency and experience with the Adobe Creative Suites.
  • An all-round designer, experienced and skilled in technical, FF&E and conceptual design.
  • Desirables: member of chartered body (BIID), experience across office, residential, and commercial design, and experience of working abroad.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES for the role:

  • Lead the day-to-day design, management, and implementation of projects to ensure timely and on budget project delivery.
  • Engage with internal E&O disciplines to manage project delivery.
  • Prepare and design tender drawings and specifications.
  • Prepare mood boards, sketches, and concept designs for projects.
  • Prepare design development presentations and documentation.
  • Utilise CAD, BIM, and Adobe software for visuals and design documentation.
  • Research and curate FF&E selections and specification packages.
  • Collaborate with Architectural, Engineering, and specialist sub-contractors.
  • Work with Quantity Surveying team to establish costs.
  • Attend client meetings, installations, and site visits.
  • Engage with BID team to educate and develop accurate fee proposals.
