Senior Interior Designer vacancy;
A prestigious high-end residential and commercial interior design studio in Holland Park, London, is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Interior Designer to join their team. Celebrating a significant upcoming anniversary, the studio offers a unique opportunity for a driven individual to contribute to exceptional projects and further their career in a thriving and creative environment. This is a full-time, permanent position reporting directly to a senior partner.
The Role:
The Senior Interior Designer will be responsible for overseeing the design of projects, managing the design team, and ensuring the successful execution of creative visions. This includes translating project briefs, contributing to Hard Finishes and FF&E concepts, and maintaining meticulous records. The role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and a deep understanding of the high-end design market.
Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Interior Designer will:
- Collaborate with financial management on fee proposals and project budgeting.
- Interpret client briefs and translate creative direction into actionable plans.
- Oversee project planning, timelines, schedules, and budgets.
- Manage and mentor the design team, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality standards.
- Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and consultants.
- Lead the development of mood boards, presentations, and detailed design specifications.
- Develop Hard Finishes schedules and specifications.
- Drive the FF&E phase, managing budgets and working with artisan manufacturers.
- Source FF&E, gather quotes, create proposals, and manage vendor invoices using industry-standard software.
- Lead the procurement process.
- Arrange shipments, collections, and deliveries.
- Cultivate relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Oversee site visits, installations, and snagging.
- Foster a supportive and collaborative team environment.
- Contribute to the design and development of proprietary brand products.
- Participate in the development of PR content.
Qualifications and Experience:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the high-end residential and commercial interior design sectors.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- The ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive, collaborative attitude.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- Proficiency in relevant design software. Specific software knowledge will be discussed during the interview process.
- Experience with interior design procurement software.
- Proven experience in FF&E sourcing.
- Mac proficiency.
Employment Terms:
This is a permanent, full-time position based in Holland Park, London. Standard working hours are typically 8:30 – 17:30 or 9:00 – 18:00, with flexibility required to meet deadlines. Occasional travel within London, the UK, and abroad may be required.
