Senior Interior Architect (Spatial Planning & Technical Design Focus)

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Interior Architect to contribute their strategic design thinking to a variety of national and international projects. This role emphasizes interior architecture, spatial planning, and a deep understanding of technical design.

The ideal candidate will bring at least four years of experience in the design industry and a compelling creative portfolio that showcases their personal style, design development process, and comprehensive skill set. This portfolio should be presented during the interview process. The interview will assess the candidate's professional understanding of the industry, communication skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities:

• The Senior Interior Architect will be responsible for presenting physical and digital work to clients and the wider team.
• They will manage individual projects, including pitching to and managing clients, overseeing and managing fit-out teams, and executing work to a high standard.
• This individual will produce specification schedules for lighting, sanitaryware, finishes, etc.
• They will collaborate effectively as a team player and contribute support during periods of high workload.

Qualifications and Experience:

• The successful candidate will have experience producing detailed architectural drawings, layouts, and custom design features using AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite.
• They must possess at least four years of design industry experience with a relevant design-based higher education degree (e.g., Bachelor's or Master's in Architecture or Interior Architecture).
• A keen eye for detail and the ability to produce and present work in a professional manner, both digitally and physically, are essential.
• The individual should have demonstrated excellent technical knowledge and the ability to develop design drawings into detailed work packages. This includes a high level of awareness of architectural and joinery detailing, buildability, and budget considerations.
• They must be able to collaborate with clients, translating their vision into aesthetic and functional spaces.
• On-site skills are required, including attending and overseeing site visits, addressing any issues promptly, and ensuring design intent is maintained.
• Job running experience is necessary, encompassing overseeing the entire project from inception to completion, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met.
• Experience creating finishes and design schedules for interior fit-out and joinery is required.
• The ability to manage and prioritize tasks efficiently, demonstrating project management skills to potentially coordinate multiple projects, is essential.
• A passion for design, demonstrated through a strong portfolio and a comprehensive understanding of current industry trends, suppliers, and product innovations, is a must.
• The ideal candidate will be a confident and positive team player.
