Job Title - Senior Generalist Engineer Frostbite 
Salary - Circa

Role Summary 

 

  • 100% Remote position
  • Working with an international team on AAA games developing in a multi-engine studio (Frostbite, Unreal 4/5, and other AAA proprietary engines).
  • Develop game features and systems across domains for our development teams on platforms including PCs and consoles. 
  • Be a part of a groundbreaking global game developer and publisher, with a permanently remote team.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect, develop, test, optimize, and debug across multiple domains including gameplay, systems, rendering, optimizations, audio, VR, Game AI, physics, tools, etc.  
  • Contribute substantially to, and support quality and maintainability for a multi-platform code-base (eg. PC to Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo Consoles). 
  • Work closely with production, engineering, design, and art teams on technical goals, features, planning, and development. 
  • Collaborate and co-develop with other engineering teams, as well as participate in code reviews. 
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize code, middleware, plug-ins, SDKs, internal libraries, and everything in between
  • Participate with other departments providing development, documentation, influence strategy and overall direction for games technology through your contributions. 
  • Create and maintain technical documentation from beginning of a project through completion.  

Experience/Skills:

  • Extensive Frostbite experience
  • 7+ years of title development experience
  • 3+ years of experience leading / owning major technical systems
  • 2+ shipped AAA console or PC titles with at least 1 as a lead/senior with Frostbite.
  • Strong C/C++ skills
  • Experience with parallel programming and multi-threaded engine systems
  • Experience with game architecture, memory systems, content pipelines, and tool chains. 
  • Experience across game development domains - see responsibilities above. 
  • Familiarity with current and next gen console SDKs, Steam, Epic Game Store, etc.
  • Conversant in PC and Console game development techniques and best practices

Bonus Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Familiarity with common game industry tools & middleware (Unreal Insights, Visual Studio, Unreal Game Sync, Perforce, and platform specific profiling tools)
  • Advanced mathematics skills in both ‘applied’ and ‘pure’ mathematics - e.g. Analytical Geometry, Numerical Methods, and Matrix Equations.
