ARE YOU A BUDDING PRODUCT DESIGNER LOOKING FOR YOUR NEXT ROLE IN A MULTI-DISCIPLINARY INTERIOR DESIGN STUDIO?
- You will assist with driving project-based design; you'll be responsible for taking a design brief for a project or a product and be technically knowledgeable and confident to design the product from concept to completion.
- You will be responsible for collating collections of furniture; you'll find and/ or create loose or fitted furnishings that clients want to buy. You'll also collate collections of furniture for the groups companies to promote and sell. You'll work with supply chains to make/develop products. Client presentations will be created and presented by you and you'll need to be confident in negotiating with suppliers.
- You will need to find beautiful furniture; our client are looking for someone with a passion for furniture design and interior design. You'll be visiting furniture shows throughout the world for inspiration, knowledge, and up-coming trends. You'll assess online the worldwide supply chain and provide commercial and technical documentation as required for items found. You'll need to create a good working relationship with suppliers and manufacturers also.
RESPONSIBILITIES for the role:
- FF&E CAD designs (bedrooms, kitchens, apartments).
- Product design for fitted and loose furniture.
- Product design and development.
- Concept designs.
- CAD space planning.
- Creating bills of materials and documentation for pricing.
- Assisting with 3D renders for products and interiors.
REQUIREMENTS for the role:
- Proficiency in Solid Edge or Solid Works.
- Proficiency in Keyshot Render software.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in SketchUp.
- Proficiency in Adobe CS (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- A Degree in a relevant field.
- Capable of carrying out site surveys (ideally CSCS card holder).
- You must be proficient in modelling up products (loose and fitted) in 3D, working from a variety of information (concept sketches, technical drawings, photos, etcetera).
- You will need to be able to assess needs and requirements of a product and be able to deliver a workable product solution.
- MUST be able to drive.
- MUST be able to fly worldwide (via plane, would be fun if you could fly yourself though).
