Overview

mustard is partnering with an established Hospitality Design Studio as they look to recruit a Senior Interior Designer to join their team in a permanent role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in international hospitality interior design and be an all-rounder in the field, with solid team leading and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the design process for hospitality interior projects from concept to completion
• Work closely with clients to understand their needs and requirements, and translate them into innovative and functional design solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure design integrity and project success
• Mentor and oversee the work of junior designers, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment
• Stay updated on the latest trends, materials, and technologies in the hospitality design industry to ensure high-quality, cutting-edge design solutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field
• 8+ years of experience in hospitality interior design, with a strong portfolio of international hospitality projects
• Proficiency in relevant design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to lead and inspire a design team
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey design concepts to clients and team members
• Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to hospitality interior design

Day-to-day

• Collaborate with the design team to brainstorm and develop innovative design concepts
• Attend client meetings to present design proposals and gather feedback
• Review and approve design documentation, ensuring compliance with project requirements and standards
• Oversee the selection and procurement of materials, furnishings, and finishes for each project
• Conduct regular site visits to assess project progress and ensure design intent is being realised
