Head of Planning- Vacancy description

A very reputable Architects and Planning Consultancy practice based in Northampton are seeking a Head of Planning to join their small and friendly team in the heart of Northampton. Having been established for some 13 years they have developed a strong client base working in a broad range of sectors that include Apartment Schemes, Masterplanning & Care Homes Projects. 

They are looking for an enthusiastic Planner to manage the Planning Department. They will manage their own caseload of work with assistance from the Directors. The ability to build and maintain client relationships will be essential, in addition to strong presentation and negotiation skills. As a firm of Architects developers and clients welcome the input of a team approach, this will involve working closely with the Architectural team informing the design and planning approach.

Sectors and client vary greatly from Care homes, through to residential one-off houses, houses for social landlords, residential flat developments, industrial buildings, part q barn conversions and permitted development. This is an opportunity to take the next step by running and managing a small but effective planning department.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Planning or a related discipline and either have, or be working towards membership of the RTPI. Some private sector experience would be desirable, but is not essential for the right candidate. Support will be available to allow the right candidate to grow into the role

Job Type: ideally Part-time-  but we will consider more hours/Full time for the correct candidate depending on salary expectations

Pay dependant on experience: Up to £30,000 for year 3 days (part time role) and ranging up to £52,000 for a full time role
