About the role: 

As a technical designer, you will be involved in each project once a concept design has been agreed. You will be responsible for liaison with the project designer to comprise the technical drawing package, helping us embed quality from design to delivery.

An integral part of the design team, working alongside the Head of Design, liaison with the wider team, and through collaboration with our supplier and sub-contractor network, to ensure the design intent is carried through the construction process.

Working alongside the Head of Design to ensure technical drawings and detail specifications are complete, accurate, coherent, and available on time to the wider team. During the construction phase, you’ll support the project manager and the team by swiftly resolving design-related issues to keep the construction program on track, on budget, and on brief.

This is a hybrid or remote role established as a potential rolling contract.

As a Technical Designer, you will be RESPONSIBLE for: 

• Collaboration and coordination with the project designer, specialist sub-contractors, and suppliers to ensure the construction detail meets design intent, budget, and programs.
• Working alongside project designers, taking responsibility for identifying inconsistencies, discrepancies, and missing information.
• Organisation design workshops with our sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure we are providing the best solutions for our clients and their projects.
• Monitoring the production and co-ordinate approval of samples for project designer.
• Production and management of specification schedules
• Responsibility for ensuring accurate base build drawings and conducting surveys to provide the designer and wider team with pre-construction information.
• Responsible for obtaining the relevant information to produce accurate fire strategy plans for building control approval

For consideration of this role, you will NEED:

• Expert knowledge in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
• Full UK/EU driving license.
• Knowledge of current UK building regulations & drafting standards.
• Experience in design and construction methods.
• Fluent in English.
