Job Title:  Design Director

Salary: £60,000 gross annual salary

Company Overview: A practice that specialise in high-end residential projects is looking to add a Design Director to the team. The current  team is composed of architects, architectural technologists, and technicians, collaborating closely with in-house town planners and landscape architects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the design function, comprising architects, architectural technologists, and technicians.
• Oversee high-end residential projects from concept to completion, ensuring design excellence and adherence to UK building regulations.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
• Foster a collaborative and creative work environment, encouraging teamwork and professional development.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction and project success.
• Provide strategic direction and guidance to the design team, promoting innovation and best practices.

Essential Skills or Experience:

• Minimum ten years' post-RIBA Part 3 experience.
• ARB accreditation and membership.
• Excellent design skills in the high-end residential sector.
• Experience in new build projects.
• Strong technical knowledge, particularly at detailing stage.
• Excellent working knowledge of UK building regulations.
• Experience managing teams and delivering residential projects in the UK.
• Highly creative and design-oriented.
• Heritage experience

• Ideally, experience with ArchiCAD.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
