Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Location: Birmingham/Cardiff
Overview: Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer eager to work on impactful infrastructure projects in the UK and globally? Join our dynamic Mechanical & Electrical team and contribute to exciting projects across the water, energy, and power sectors. Based in Birmingham, you will be involved in designing and managing innovative solutions that tackle real-world challenges. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with experts from various offices, working on a range of projects that drive sustainability and technological innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver design, feasibility, and project management services for clients in sectors including water utilities, renewable energy, and power distribution.
- Support the full project lifecycle, from concept design and feasibility studies to construction support and delivery.
- Engage in projects like wastewater treatment, offshore wind farms, energy interconnectors, and low voltage (LV) control systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, integrating digital solutions with traditional engineering to solve complex infrastructure problems.
- Contribute to projects involving HV/MV/LV power distribution, building services (lighting, security, fire alarms), and energy storage systems.
- Use digital tools such as CAD, BIM, and coding technologies to streamline the design process and improve project outcomes.
What We're Looking For:
- A Bachelor’s Degree (2:1 or above) in Electrical Engineering and proven experience in the utility or energy sector.
- Master’s Degree and progress toward chartered status with IET (or similar) are advantageous but not essential.
- Experience working with CAD, BIM, and other design software; coding knowledge is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office with the ability to quickly adapt to new digital tools and platforms.
- A practical understanding of how electrical designs are implemented on-site and the ability to work proactively on your own initiative.
- Enthusiasm for career development in electrical engineering, with a focus on utilities and related sectors.
