Mid-weight Interior Designer

We have an opportunity to work with our client who are a successful award-winning multi-disciplinary design company based in Northwood, Middlesex. This is a chance for an enthusiastic and experienced  mid-weight interior designer to be a part of a fun, successful and dynamic team based in Northwood.

The client are looking for an experienced interior designer with at least 4 years proven history in interior design for private residential, developer and show home clients. A strong background in FF&E across a varying price points is important, along with strong spatial planning and attention to detail. In depth knowledge of fabric/wallpaper companies would be advantageous. A successful candidate must be proficient in Microsoft packages (including Excel), AutoCAD, SketchUp and other 3D modelling softwares. Knowlege of residential furniture and lighting sales as well as experience working with UK and European brands would be hugely beneficial but not vital. A successful candidate will be expected to provide evidence of working on a variety of projects from concept to completion, with further in house training provided.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Report directly to the design director, assisting in managing workflow and generating new business
  • Manage private client and show home interior design briefs
  • Sourcing, designing and implementing design schemes
  • Prepare mood boards and presentations on time to a high standard
  • Lising with the customer service team and suppliers
  • Working on pricing, quotations, costings and client budgets
  • Design show homes and collaborate with the design team on larger projects when requested
  • Complete surveys and measurements
  • Attend client meetings and manage on site installations
  • Ability to build good relationships across the board, both internally and externally

Key requirements:

  • IT literate, whilst being proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook as well as AutoCAD, SketchUp and Photoshop
  • Ability to work on your own initiative, multi task and prioritise workload to meet deadlines
  • Resilience to manage conflicting demands with ability to demonstrate confidence to clients
  • Strong knowledge of working with fabrics including experience in designing and measuring whilst providing quotes and proposals
  • Minimum of 4 years relevant experience 
  • Strong creative and organisational skills whilst being strongly numerate
  • Well presented with good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to managed junior team members
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Own vehicle + clean drivers licence
