Job Description

mustardFX are looking to speak to talented Creative Producers to join a boutique production studio in the center of Bristol.

Looking at kick off in around May this year, the studio are crewing up for a live action comedy drama, made up of 40x11 minute episodes, aimed at pre-school aged children. The contract itself will run as a 1 year FTC (PAYE), and can start immediately for the right candidate.

As a Creative Producer, you will facilitate the show's creative vision throughout all stages of production. The studio tend to do all pre-production out of their studio in Bristol (with an increasing number of team members working remotely) – from writing, voice recording, design, storyboarding and animatics. They also work with a variety of overseas studios for animation.

You will have had experience producing a children's TV show previously (not necessarily pre-school), with a background in Writing/Directing. You'll have on-set experience with experience in budgeting, costing and scheduling; alongside a strong working knowledge of live action production phases

The Creative Producer will report to the Head of Kids and to the Creative Director, and there will be a Line Producer on the show with responsibility for running the day to day logistics and keeping the project on budget and schedule.

In the ‘olden days’ (i.e. pre-COVID) the studio would have said that the successful candidate would need to be willing to relocate to Bristol. This is still a consideration for people who would like to form a long-term relationship with the company, rather than a project-specific one – something they always hope for with their colleagues at this level, however it is no longer a pre-requisite for the role. There will, however, be 2 8-week blocks which will be required on set on a farm in Wales - the studio can assist with accommodation costs for people travelling from far away.

If you feel like you tick the boxes above, and would be interested in finding out more about the finer details of the role and the company, do reach out today!
